Christmas Gifts

This year I got my first knitting related Christmas gifts, my lovely family got me a pair of beautiful beaded knitting needles, a Chocolate Bite stitch marker and a sewing Needle Case, all from The Wool Shack.

I also got 2 books, The Pleasures of Knitting by Ann McCauley and Quilted Bags in a Weekend by Ellen Kharade. My sister got me the Quilted Bags book, I think she only got it so I'll make her lots of bags, or it could have been because it was on my Amazon wish list:D

After Christmas, when Get Knitted reopened I they had some Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Iris Garden was on sale, so I decided to treat myself to a couple of hanks.

I also bought January's Simply Knitting magazine, which had some free labels that can be sewn onto what you've made, and some Clover coil knitting needle holders.
Here is the Lorna's Laces so far.

The pattern is After Bertha from Socks Socks Socks, it's a heelless pattern so I won't waste any Lorna's Laces yarn.

The Christmas gifts I made were well received. Emily(cousins daughter) loved Fifi and my Nana was really pleased with her Hotwater Bottle Cover.

Your sock is gorgeous!
Do you like that stitch marker? Those are the ones that inspired me to make some. I love them!
Looks like you had a great Christmas.

I'm not at all surprised that your hot water bottle cover was well received - it's gorgeous and so beautifully knitted. I'm already planning to make one for a friend's birthday and... wait for it... for my mum for next Christmas! I guess I must be pretty sad to be thinking about next Christmas already but I don't want to be caught out the way I was last time round. ~Sharon

Great gifts :) You're lucky. I didn't get much in the way of knitting gifts, though I can't complain: my lovely roommate is knitting me a sweater :) Of course, she's also the world's fastest knitter and it's a chunky knit.

Take care and thank you for reading my blog :)
