First Christmas Present Finished

I've made a hot water bottle cover for my nana for Christmas.

At first I was going to make yarnagogos hot water bottle cozy, but when I didn't get the right tension on the 4.5mm circular needle that the pattern called for, I decided to use 4mm straight needles and use yarnagogos as a guide and make some of the pattern up myself. I'm quite pleased with the result, though it could have done with being a little bit bigger.

I've made it so that it has an envelope type back so that you can get he hot water bottle in & out when the cover needs washing and I've also made it a roll neck so you can fill the bottle without taking it out of its cover. It's knit in three pieces with Debbie Bliss Merino DK colour 700.

The yarn to make Kimberlys Fingerless Gloves came this week, Debbie Bliss Merino DK colour 615. It's a really similar to one of the colours in the scarf I bought last month - I know, I'm a bad knitter for buying a scarf and not making one, but it was bloody cold and I didn't have the time.

That is a great water bottle cover! What an interesting idea.
I can't wait to see those gloves.
That's a really pretty color.

I don't know about your nan but I'd definitely love that hotwater bottle cover! Must make one as a pressie myself next year. ~Sharon
